Organic Clear Apple Juice from Concentrate

This is a simple clear apple juice made from reconstituted apple juice concentrate. The original contains no problematic ingredients or seed oils. The DIY version uses organic apple juice concentrate and filtered water to create a cleaner, preservative-free alternative with better traceability.

Based on: Apfelsaft klar · Makes approximately 32 servings (8 fl oz each) · Serving: 8 fl oz (240ml)

Why This Recipe is Seed Oil Free

Commercial Apfelsaft klar from albi often contains inflammatory seed oils like canola, soybean, or sunflower oil. This homemade version replaces them with healthier fats like butter, ghee, coconut oil, or avocado oil — giving you the same great taste without the processed oils.

The original Apfelsaft klar may also contain artificial dyes. Check it on DyeFreeCheck to find out.

Ingredients

Organic apple juice concentrate
946ml (32 fl oz) concentrate · Lakewood Organic Pure Apple Concentrate or Tree Top Organic Apple Juice Concentrate
Provides the concentrated apple flavor and natural sugars that will be diluted to drinking strength
Filtered water
2.84 liters (96 fl oz) · High-quality filtered or spring water
Dilutes the concentrate to proper drinking consistency while maintaining clean taste

Instructions

Step 1. Chill both the apple juice concentrate and filtered water in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before mixing. Cold ingredients blend more easily and create a better-tasting final product.
Step 2. In a large clean pitcher or container (at least 4 liters capacity), pour the 946ml of apple juice concentrate first. Using concentrate first allows you to see the dilution ratio more clearly as you add water.
Step 3. Slowly add the 2.84 liters of filtered water to the concentrate while stirring gently with a long spoon. Add the water in three stages: first 1 liter, stir, then another 1 liter, stir, then the final 840ml. This gradual mixing prevents foam formation and ensures even distribution.
Step 4. Stir the mixture thoroughly for 2-3 minutes to ensure complete integration. The concentrate should be fully dissolved with no visible separation or cloudiness.
Step 5. Taste and adjust if needed - if too concentrated, add small amounts of water (60ml at a time). If too weak, this indicates your concentrate may have been pre-diluted.
Step 6. Transfer to clean glass bottles or jars for storage. Fill containers completely to minimize air exposure which can affect flavor and cause oxidation.
Step 7. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving. Serve over ice if desired. Shake or stir before pouring as natural settling may occur.

Storage

Store in refrigerator for up to 7-10 days. Glass containers preserve flavor better than plastic. No preservatives means shorter shelf life than commercial versions but better flavor and health profile.

Initial investment is modest and you control the quality. Organic concentrate costs more upfront but delivers better nutrition and no preservatives. Bulk buying concentrate reduces long-term costs significantly.
