Organic Remineralized Purified Water

Pure Life is remineralized purified water with three food-grade minerals added for taste and mineral content. Contains no problematic ingredients or seed oils. DIY version uses the same mineral profile with organic sources and costs significantly less per serving.

Based on: Pure Life · Makes approximately 40 servings (20 liters) · Serving: 500 mL

Why This Recipe is Seed Oil Free

Commercial Pure Life from Bluetriton Brands often contains inflammatory seed oils like canola, soybean, or sunflower oil. This homemade version replaces them with healthier fats like butter, ghee, coconut oil, or avocado oil — giving you the same great taste without the processed oils.

The original Pure Life may also contain artificial dyes. Check it on DyeFreeCheck to find out.

Ingredients

Distilled water
20 liters (5.28 gallons) · Steam distilled water or reverse osmosis filtered water
Pure water base, free from all minerals and contaminants for consistent remineralization
Food-grade calcium chloride
6g (about 1.5 teaspoons) · Essential Elements Food Grade Calcium Chloride
Provides calcium content and contributes to clean, crisp taste profile
Sodium bicarbonate
8g (about 1.75 teaspoons) · Bob's Red Mill Baking Soda (aluminum-free)
Adds alkalinity and balances pH while providing clean mineral taste
Food-grade magnesium sulfate
4g (about 1 teaspoon) · SaltWorks Ultra Epsom Salt (USP grade)
Provides magnesium content and enhances the mineral profile for optimal hydration

Instructions

Step 1. Start with 20 liters of distilled water in a large food-grade container or multiple smaller containers. The water must be completely pure to ensure accurate mineral balance - tap water or filtered water will interfere with the precise mineral ratios. Use distilled water at room temperature for best mineral dissolution.
Step 2. Prepare the mineral blend by combining 6g calcium chloride, 8g sodium bicarbonate, and 4g magnesium sulfate in a small bowl. Use a digital scale accurate to 0.1g for precision - these small amounts are critical for achieving the correct mineral balance. Whisk the dry minerals together thoroughly to ensure even distribution before adding to water.
Step 3. Add minerals in three stages to prevent precipitation: First, dissolve the sodium bicarbonate in 500ml of the distilled water, stirring gently for 2-3 minutes until completely clear. This creates the alkaline base solution. Next, dissolve the calcium chloride in another 500ml of water in a separate container, stirring until crystal clear. Finally, dissolve the magnesium sulfate in a third 500ml portion.
Step 4. Combine the mineral solutions slowly into the remaining 18.5L of distilled water. Pour each mineral solution while stirring the main container continuously to prevent localized concentration. Mix gently but thoroughly for 5-10 minutes, ensuring all minerals are evenly distributed throughout the batch.
Step 5. Allow the completed water to rest for 30 minutes, then stir once more before bottling. The water should be crystal clear with no cloudiness or precipitation. Taste-test a small sample - it should have a clean, slightly mineral taste similar to the original Pure Life product. If too strong, dilute with additional distilled water.
Step 6. Bottle in clean glass or BPA-free plastic containers, leaving 1-inch headspace. Label each container with the production date. The mineral water is ready to drink immediately but flavors will meld better after 24 hours. Store at room temperature or refrigerate as preferred.

Storage

Store in sealed containers at room temperature for up to 6 months or refrigerated for optimal freshness. No preservatives added, so maintain clean handling. Shake gently before use if minerals settle.
