Aïn lfrane is a pure natural mineral water with virtually no measurable minerals (0mg sodium, 0g all nutrients). This is excellent news - it contains no seed oils, artificial additives, or problematic ingredients. The DIY version replicates ultra-pure water through advanced filtration, delivering the same purity at significant cost savings.

Why This Recipe is Seed Oil Free
Commercial Eau from Aïn lfrane often contains inflammatory seed oils like canola, soybean, or sunflower oil. This homemade version replaces them with healthier fats like butter, ghee, coconut oil, or avocado oil — giving you the same great taste without the processed oils.
Ingredients
Filtered tap water
20 liters · Municipal water supply + home filtration
Base water source that will be purified through multiple filtration stages
Reverse osmosis system
1 system (produces unlimited pure water) · APEC ROES-50 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis System
Primary purification method removing 99% of contaminants, minerals, and dissolved solids
Carbon pre-filter replacement
1 set (lasts 6-12 months) · APEC FILTER-SET-ES replacement filters
Removes chlorine, chloramine, and organic compounds before RO membrane
Instructions
Step 1. Install the reverse osmosis system according to manufacturer instructions, connecting to your cold water line and installing the dedicated faucet. The system requires 3-4 hours of initial setup but then operates automatically. Flush the system for 2-4 hours initially to remove any manufacturing residues - this water should not be consumed.
Step 2. Fill storage containers by running water from the RO faucet. The system produces pure water at approximately 50 gallons per day, so 20 liters (5.3 gallons) takes about 2-3 hours. Use glass or food-grade stainless steel containers - avoid plastic storage which can leach chemicals back into pure water.
Step 3. For immediate consumption, fill a 1-liter glass bottle directly from the RO faucet. The water is ready to drink immediately with no additional treatment needed. TDS (total dissolved solids) should measure 5-15 ppm on a digital TDS meter, compared to 50-150 ppm for typical tap water.
Step 4. Replace pre-filters every 6-12 months and the RO membrane every 2-3 years based on usage. Monitor water quality with a TDS meter - if readings rise above 20 ppm, it's time for filter maintenance. Keep replacement filters in a cool, dry place.
Step 5. Store finished pure water in glass containers in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Unlike commercial bottled water with preservatives, this pure water lacks chlorine disinfectants so should not be stored at room temperature for extended periods. For best taste, consume within 3-4 days of production.
Storage
Store in glass containers in refrigerator for up to 1 week. Pure water lacks preservatives so avoid room temperature storage beyond 1-2 days.
