Based on: Starbucks Frappuccino Mocha · Makes approximately 12 servings · Serving: 9.5 fl oz (281ml)

Why This Recipe is Seed Oil Free

Commercial Starbucks Frappuccino Mocha from Starbucks often contains inflammatory seed oils like canola, soybean, or sunflower oil. This homemade version replaces them with healthier fats like butter, ghee, coconut oil, or avocado oil — giving you the same great taste without the processed oils.

Instructions

Step 1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 360g organic cane sugar and 48g organic cocoa powder for 2-3 minutes until completely combined and no cocoa clumps remain. Sugar crystals help break down cocoa powder naturally - this prevents the gritty texture that ruins homemade chocolate drinks. If mixture still looks uneven, sift through fine-mesh strainer.
Step 2. Heat 600ml (2.5 cups) of the organic milk in heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium-low heat until steaming but not boiling (around 70°C/160°F). Remove from heat and gradually whisk in the sugar-cocoa mixture, adding about 1/4 at a time. Whisk vigorously for 30 seconds between each addition to ensure smooth dissolution. This hot milk method prevents cocoa powder from clumping.
Step 3. Add remaining 1800ml (7.5 cups) cold organic milk to the hot chocolate mixture and whisk until uniform temperature. Stir in 480ml Chameleon organic cold brew concentrate and 12ml vanilla extract. The concentrate is already properly diluted for drinking, so this ratio provides coffee strength similar to the commercial version.
Step 4. Pour mixture through fine-mesh strainer into large pitcher or storage container to catch any remaining lumps. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours - chilling allows flavors to meld and creates the signature cold, creamy texture. Mixture will separate slightly during storage (natural without artificial emulsifiers).
Step 5. Before serving, always stir or shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds as organic ingredients naturally separate without synthetic stabilizers. Pour 281ml (9.5 fl oz) per serving over ice or enjoy chilled. Each serving provides approximately 195 calories with 29g natural sugars vs 32g added sugars in commercial version.

Storage

Refrigerate in sealed container for up to 5 days maximum - no preservatives means shorter shelf life than commercial version. Always stir before serving as separation is natural. Do not freeze as milk proteins will separate permanently.
