Why This Recipe is Seed Oil Free

Commercial Organic Virgin Coconut Oil from Spectrum often contains inflammatory seed oils like canola, soybean, or sunflower oil. This homemade version replaces them with healthier fats like butter, ghee, coconut oil, or avocado oil — giving you the same great taste without the processed oils.

The original Organic Virgin Coconut Oil may also contain artificial dyes. Check it on DyeFreeCheck to find out.

Instructions

Step 1. No preparation required. This product is already in its optimal form. Coconut oil cannot be practically made at home as it requires specialized equipment to extract oil from fresh coconut meat. Store the jar in a cool, dry place. Coconut oil is solid below 76°F and liquid above that temperature - this is completely normal. Use directly for cooking (excellent for high-heat applications), baking (substitute 1:1 for butter in most recipes), or consume by the spoonful for health benefits. For cooking, heat gently as needed - coconut oil has a smoke point around 350°F for unrefined varieties.

Storage

Store in original jar in cool, dry place. Shelf life is 2-3 years unopened. Solidifies below 76°F, liquefies above - both states are normal and safe to use.
